A year after the French Ministry of the Environment, Energy and the Sea launched a call for projects “Hydrogen Territories”, the 5th edition of the Hydrogen Days in the Territories will aim to present direct experience of ongoing projects that have received the label, as well as of a number of flagship projects that have already borne fruit.

Several sessions will be organized on the first day around projects in urban and rural settings, projects connected to tourism and events, as well as industrial projects. The second day will focus more specifically on processes that will support projects, such as funding, economic models, regulations, insurance and social acceptability.

ENGIE is supporting Hydrogen Days in the Territories, during which participants will have the opportunity to meet players whose operations are fully committed to developing the production, storage and use of hydrogen.

ENGIE, a key player in the “Hydrogen Territories” call for projects

The Group is committed to the development of the hydrogen sector in France through three of its priorities for development: industrial uses, mobility and hydrogen as an energy carrier. To this end, it took part in the Government-initiated call for projects, “Hydrogen Territories”. ENGIE is involved in nine of the 29 projects awarded the label, contributing its expertise to implementing energy transition in France.

Isabelle Kocher, CEO of ENGIE, supports this green growth initiative. “Using hydrogen is of strategic importance for ENGIE because it speeds up the transition to an energy sector with reduced CO2 emissions, whether by centralized or decentralized means,” she says. “This green gas’s ability to be stored and transported makes it an excellent vector for the development of intermittent renewable energy and a means of facilitating the rollout of green mobility. Today, these topics are at the heart of France’s territorial concerns and the fact that we are so well established at a local level gives us a great advantage for bringing together different economic and institutional players for developing these projects.”
